Mijoté Privacy Policy

Mijoté is a recipe workspace for creating, importing, cooking, improving, and sharing recipes. This policy explains what information Mijoté may handle and how it is used.

Information Mijoté Handles

Mijoté handles the recipe content you choose to add, such as recipes, ingredients, steps, notes, photos, PDFs, links, imported source material, edits, versions, and shared recipe content.

For accounts, Mijoté uses Sign in with Apple and stores the app-specific identifier needed to keep sessions, purchases, credits, and entitlements linked to the right account. Mijoté does not store your Apple email address, name, or other Apple profile information.

For purchases, Mijoté keeps the App Store transaction, product, credit, and entitlement records needed to verify purchases, grant Mijoté Credits, unlock recipe packs, prevent duplicate grants, and maintain an accurate ledger.

For AI-assisted features, Mijoté may process the recipe text, photos, PDFs, links, prompts, questions, and related context you submit for import, cleanup, editing, translation, generation, or cooking help.

How Mijoté Uses Information

Mijoté uses information to provide the recipe library, editor, import, cook mode, sharing, sync, purchase, credit, and AI-assisted features you request.

Mijoté also uses operational records to authenticate sessions, prevent abuse, debug issues, maintain reliability, respond to support requests, and improve product quality.

AI-Assisted Features

When you ask Mijoté to import, clean up, translate, improve, generate, or answer questions about recipe content, the relevant content may be sent to Mijoté's backend and to AI providers used to perform the requested action.

AI output is assistance, not professional medical, dietary, nutrition, allergy, or food-safety advice. You remain responsible for judging recipes, ingredients, substitutions, cooking temperatures, and safety.

Anonymized Product Improvement (Opt-In)

With your consent, Mijoté collects anonymized records of your recipe imports (the source page text and the parsed recipe, plus your edits) and your Ask Mijoté conversations to improve recipe parsing and assistant quality. Before any of this data leaves your device it is anonymized: personal information — names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, locations, dates of birth, social handles, and account or device identifiers — is removed, links are stripped of query parameters and credentials, and records contain no identifier connecting them to you or your account. Because records are not linked to any account, they cannot be associated with an individual. Mijoté maintains these records in de-identified form and does not attempt to re-identify them.

This collection is off by default in the App Store version of Mijoté and can be turned off anytime in Settings → Data & Privacy. Turning it off stops future collection and discards anything not yet uploaded. Collected records are automatically deleted after 18 months. Source PDF files and photos are never collected this way — only extracted text.

Pre-release test builds of Mijoté always collect this anonymized data and inform testers accordingly.

Sharing

If you choose to share a recipe publicly, selected recipe content becomes accessible through a public link such as https://getmijote.com/u/.... Do not share a recipe publicly unless you are comfortable with other people viewing that content.

Apple Services

Mijoté may use Apple services including Sign in with Apple, iCloud or CloudKit, StoreKit, Reminders, Photos, Camera, and files selected by you. These services are used only for the app features you choose to use.

Connected Apps

You can connect Mijoté to apps such as ChatGPT and Claude so they can save recipes to your library. This connection is one-way: a connected app can send a recipe — title, ingredients, steps, and notes — to your account, but it cannot read your library or see anything already in it, and it has no access to your account, purchases, or settings.

Recipes sent this way are held briefly on Mijoté's servers, linked to your account, only until the app retrieves them; once retrieved they are removed from that holding area. Saving a recipe this way does not use AI credits. Connecting an app is optional and off until you set it up, and you can disconnect anytime in Settings → Connected apps — this stops the app from saving anything new, while recipes already saved remain in your library.

Third Parties

Mijoté may rely on Apple services, cloud hosting and database providers, and AI providers used to process requested AI-assisted actions. Mijoté does not sell personal information and is not designed to use personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Retention And Deletion

Mijoté keeps information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain purchase and entitlement records, operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.

You can delete recipes and other app content from inside the app where deletion controls are available. For account or data deletion requests, contact privacy@ateliermijote.com.
